Kawasaki Ninja 650 2017 – new bike, presented by Kawasaki in Cologne.
At first glance it may seem that the bike is in addition Kawasaki ZX-6R, but the story is a little different – a novelty, in fact, is the evolution of Kawasaki’s the ER-6f .
The Japanese tried to do something in between the ruler and the ER-6 line of sport bikes.
Upgrades are impressive.
649-cc engine lost 3 hp
power under the onslaught of harmful exhaust standard Euro-4, but the Japanese have improved fuel consumption and reduced weight of the motorcycle, ie total novelty is not lost in performance.
Fuel consumption according to the manufacturer, decreased by 6.8 percent, while the slipper clutch needs to simplify pokatushki in dense city traffic.
The new bike is 19 kg lighter than its predecessor – the difference is too large, which feels even the inexperienced rider.
An important “weight loss” factor is the new asymmetric trellis frame and aluminum swingarm.
Motorcycle Suspension is provided by a 41-mm fork RWU (without adjustments) and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload (changed location, a classic).
The brake system is represented by the new Nissin calipers, combined with Bosch 9.1M ABS system, which guarantees high-quality braking, even if the rider will clamp lever sharply.
Windshield improved new windscreen, which is regulated by the 3rd position (60 mm between the lowest and highest).
Under the visor set new optics.
The instrument panel consists of an analog tachometer, conventional indicators and classic black-and-white LCD screen, which displays all the important information.
As for the design, it looks good, though the bike looks small and may be uncomfortable for those taller than 1.8 m.
